The "Utopia/Dystopia" skateboard art show at Best Daze Dispensary aims to blur the lines between visual artistry and skateboarding culture, creating a harmonious fusion of creativity and passion. In a time of so much indifference, our society has refocused their attention to psychedelics and cannabis and it's many complex compounds including the endocannabinoid system which is widely distributed within the brain and the body. With this exploration, this exhibition is set to inspire and challenge perceptions of utopia and dystopia.

Over 25 artists have created skateboards featuring their concept of utopia, dystopia or both. Both Utopia and Dystopia are by definition unobtainable places that leak into the common mainstream of everything and the in-between. Attendees are invited to explore their own ideals of utopia and dystopia, inspired by the artwork and the cannabis available on site at the show, to reach into their deeper psychological realms.

Some artists may choose a dystopian adventure exploring "oppressive societal control and the illusion of a perfect society that are maintained through corporate, bureaucratic, technological, moral, or totalitarian control…." While others may imagine a beautiful "place of ideal perfection especially in laws, government, and social conditions" where dreams truly come true or perhaps artists will investigate the merging of the two..

On July 14, 2023, at Best Daze Dispensary at 128 W. Palace Avenue, Santa Fe, NM 87501; Kamagraph Skateboards is curating a skateboard art show that is open to the public. Let's dive into the unknown, the possibilities of futures we haven't seen yet, and the expansion of the collected consciousness that we have only slightly tapped into.
